About the area: Situated in countryside in an designated area of outstanding natural beauty, in Towednack, only three miles from St. Ives. It is a wonderfully peaceful location from which to explore a variety of beaches, the Cornish coastal path, gardens, old mine workings and St. Ives itself.

The old fisherman's quarter of St. Ives has narrow cobbled streets and fishermen's cottages all clustered around its working harbour. There are numerous art galleries [you'll find some of them listed online here and here], including Tate Gallery St. Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Scupture Garden, and the Leach Pottery Studio & Museum. There is a wide variety of restaurants, with stunning views and to top it off, it is surrounded on three sides by splendid sandy safe beaches.

Whether you prefer to spend your holiday walking, fishing, horse riding, playing golf, surfing, windsurfing, exploring Cornwall's fascinating mining legacy, visiting gardens and numerous art galleries, or relaxing on some of the most beautiful sandy beaches in England, then we feel that Coldbarbour Barn, makes an ideally comfortable base from which to enjoy your holiday.
